The photograph features the Allen family, highlighting Elise Ford Allen and her husband, James O. Allen, an entrepreneur and inventor. Elise Ford Allen, the granddaughter of Major George Ford, married James O. Allen, and together they had ten living children. The couple made significant contributions to media and publishing in Peoria, Illinois, by establishing the Traveler Weekly Newspaper and the Traveler Printing and Publishing Company.
