The Buffalo Soldier’s equipment during the Frontier Wars included the leather N2 Hagner Cartridge Box (A-018B), U.S. Army 1881 Pattern Holster (A-018C), and black bridle leather belt, highlighting their vital role on the Western Frontier. The N2 Hagner Cartridge Box, embossed with the “US” on its flap, held .50-70 cartridges, pairing functionality with durability.  The 1881 Pattern Holster, crafted by the Rock Island Arsenal, securely housed the Colt Single Action Army revolver, featuring a protective flap, reinforce toe, and belt loop for a 2- inch cartridge belt (A-018A).  These items exemplify the practicality and historical significance in late 19th-century military equipment use by the Buffalo Soldiers
