Artifact A-015A

1884 Springfield Rifle

Artifact A-015B

Frontier Wars U.S. Cavalry M1885 Leather Carbine Boot

Item A-015A, 1884 Breechloading Trapdoor Springfield Rifle with a Ramrod Bayonet.  This rifle is in fine condition, showcasing an early production U.S. Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle.  Most of the arsenal-blued finish remains on the barrel, with some oxidation yet still relatively smooth.  The metal exhibits scattered minor impact marks and dings from handling, storage, and use.  All markings on the metal are clear, and the action functions crisply and fully.

Item A-015B, The Leather Carbine Boot (2nd Pattern - Trapdoor Carbine) boasts a smooth, polished surface.  This second pattern design includes a retention strap positioned at the far end of the boot.  A clear Rock Island Arsenal stamp is prominently displayed on one side, while the opposite side features a unit marking reading "M9 over 36." The retention straps are equally soft and pliable, ensuring flexibility and durability.
