Frontier War/Spanish-American Wars Mills .30 Cal Cavalry Cartridge Belt
The Mills and Orndorff woven belt features 40 double loops, including 12 for .38 caliber cartridges, ensuring soldiers were always battle-ready. Its khaki/tan color and brass fittings, like the saber hook with a distinctive "C" closure, highlight its meticulous design and military utility.
Notes: Major Anson Mills introduced the woven cartridge belt, patented several times in 1867. The Mills Woven Cartridge Belt Company, based in Worcester, Massachusetts, played a significant role. The Army adopted the belt under a contract with Mills-Orndorff in 1880, later adapting it for .38 caliber revolvers in 1892.
